What is Tim’s Place?

Our program focuses on creating a supportive and engaging environment for individuals living with dementia.  We organize a variety of activities designed to enhance their well-being, cognitive abilities, socialization, and overall quality of life.  From art therapy and music sessions to gentle exercises and memory games, we provide person-centered care.  Their dedicated caregivers receive a few hours to practice self-care without the demands associated with dementia.

Why Volunteer with us?

  • Make a profound impact: Your presence and dedication can bring joy and comfort to individuals and their families by reducing the isolation associated with dementia.
  • Personal growth and development: You’ll gain invaluable experience working with people living with dementia. You’ll develop empathy, patience and communication skills that can be applied to various aspects of your life.
  • Supportive community: Our team of volunteers is a close-knit group committed to making a difference. You’ll have the chance to connect with like-minded individuals, share experiences, and learn from each other.
  • Flexible commitment: We understand that everyone has different schedules and commitments. Whether you can spare a few hours each week or have more availability, we welcome your involvement. We’ll work with you to find a volunteer role that suits you best.

How can you get involved?

  • Contact us: Email your contact details to timsplacesequim@gmail.com and tell us a little bit about yourself, why our program appeals to you and the strengths you bring (a big smile and hearty laugh are great skills!)
  • Attend a volunteer orientation: We will reach out to invite you to attend a comprehensive orientation session. You’ll learn about dementia, our program goals, person-centered care, and the important roles our volunteers play.
  • Engagement: After completing the volunteer orientation and a simple background check you’ll have the opportunity to participate at Tim’s Place with the guidance and support of our amazing team.

People don’t volunteer because they enjoy working for free.
They volunteer to change the World.
